A superior team with superior individuals, Juventus barely needed to break a sweat to defeat arch-rivals Fiorentina 2-1 on the opening day of the new Serie A season.

Juventus started the match with dynamism and clear intent, they were determined to get a result. Squandering a few chances on goal in a half that was dominated by their collective and individual strength, Max Allegri's men scored the opening goal before their opponent had registered a single shot on target.
