Squad depth is of the utmost importance to teams fighting it out on multiple fronts. Juventus are considered favourites to win Serie A largely because, if they do suffer injuries as they have done recently, they have the bench players necessary to maintain good performances.

The usual argument bandied around by the critics within the peninsula is how would Napoli cope should star striker Gonzalo Higuain be forced to skip a few games due to injury. They would undoubtedly suffer, but even if he was to remain fit and healthy, playing alongside Jose Callejon and Lorenzo Insigne, the Old Lady might still pip them to the title.

Why? Well it is not only because Juve have tasted victory or because they have the experience necessary to grind out victories, but that they boast players of varied talent that allows for tactical variations.
