It may be excellent but Juve's defence can still improve

Conceding only 17 goals and collecting 18 clean sheets in 32 Serie A games, one can only point to a brilliant defence and applaud Juventus for their reliability. After all, this is a side that knows exactly how to work as a unit and frustrate the opponent. Yet, upon watching the likes of Atletico Madrid shut out Barcelona in the Champions League, one cannot help but wonder whether Juventus' back-line, while excellent so often, are as good when pitted against strikers of immense quality.

When the Turin giants were paired with Bayern Munich in the last 16 round of the Champions League, many including this writer billed the clash as a beautiful defence versus a beautiful attack. Yet within 55 minutes, the Bavarian side had scored two goals in Juventus' home.
