Juve's strength in depth is key to winning

With the international break now over, normality resumes and Juventus face Empoli on Saturday night in a must win clash. While it was hoped this would be an easy home fixture against a side that has not managed a win since Jan. 10, the many injuries and absences the Bianconeri are suffering from will ensure a tough test against a team eager to right their wrongs.

Winless against the Old Lady since April 1999, Marco Giampaolo's current side boast balance and skill but perhaps lack the opportunistic nature of a truly successful side, as well as the maturity required to beat a top club. However, they are not facing the best XI that Juve have to offer. With Leonardo Bonucci, Sami Khedira and Alex Sandro suspended, Juventus are missing three extraordinarily intelligent players who give a lot to the team. Additionally, Paulo Dybala is injured, Andrea Barzagli is a doubt and it's unlikely Claudio Marchisio will be deployed from the start as he's yet to fully recover from his injury.
