Luck may have played a part in Sassuolo's triumph, but Massimiliano Allegri and his decisions are slowly robbing Juventus and their fans of hope -- hope that somehow and someday soon, the trophy winning Old Lady will be revived and duly returned to her path of glory.
The real Juve, the one that dominated, controlled and won with startling efficiency in seasons past has officially gone missing. While tactical fluidity seems like nothing but an elusive dream at this point, the real concern is the team's inability to manage the simple tasks, such as maintaining possession. A first half made up of preposterous mistakes, it's remarkable how a side that once governed the field with precision now struggles to complete simple passes.
