Hellas Verona, for all their stunning performances last season, succumbed to Juventus for the second time in a week as they lost 4-0 in Turin on Sunday night.
History has not been on their side as they have yet to achieve a victory in Juve's home in the league. A draw was the dream but instead they proved incapable of even providing a challenge. It took the Bianconeri a grand total of six minutes to go 2-0 up, leaving their opponent both physically and psychologically broken.
Despite the change of formation and the deployment of Luca Toni on the pitch, Verona looked intimidated and insecure and failed to work as a unit to adequately restrict Juve's attacking game.
