It took only 14 minutes for Juventus to destroy their chances of having another invincible season. In complete control and enjoying their superiority, the Bianconeri scored twice to leave Fiorentina with little hope of a comeback when they travelled to Stadio Artemio Franchi in October. That was until the 66th minute when Giuseppe Rossi began the fight back and began to toy with the vulnerabilities of that Juve defence, scoring a hat trick as La Viola ran out 4-2 winners.

That collapse can never be forgotten, especially as it was to a rival that celebrated the victory with total abandon. Bianconeri pride was dented and emotions were stirred. Juventus had dominated that match and felt they did not deserve the crushing defeat and yet in the long run, that loss proved to be a blessing in disguise.
